Why Goblin Slayer Season 1 reached the height it did
The White Fox Studios animated Goblin Slayer Season 1 nominated quite a good gathering from the anime community.

- The prime keys to doing this may have been a few of its very brutal scenes. The scenes were so grotesque for a medieval fantasy Japanese anime, that it put even Re: ZERO to shame. Imagine a Japanese manga (from which the Anime is adapted) depicting female adventurers being sexually penetrated by a bunch of ganged-up goblins.
- That’s about one of the darkest scenes you can imagine for a scene that will bring you fame. But the internet quickly took to this realistic dark tone of goblins. They even loved it when these same goblins were slain by the protagonist. The Goblin Slayer made its name prominent within the anime community.
What is Goblin Slayer about?

Written by Kumo Kagyu and illustrated by Noboru Kannatsuki, the Goblin Slayer manga lives up to its name. The story follows a young priestess and her band of adventurers who get hit by a grotesque and dark reality upon their dungeon exploration. A simple Goblin lair turns out very heinous when many gangs up on them.
- An ant alone feels feeble but imagine an entire ant colony. But coming to the rescue of the priestess’s assaulted and violated band members is a knight in shining blood.
- The Goblin Slayer is the protagonist of the story. The very premise of the manga lies in the adventure of this knighted hero with the priestess.
What changes will we see in Season 2?

Now that Season 2 has been set on the mark, there have been a few changes.
- Mainly, White Fox studios will no longer continue their work as an animation studio. Taking over from White Fox will be Liden Films. For those who do not know them yet, recall Rurouni Kenshin and Tokyo Revengers season 2. Both of which are animated by Liden Films studios.
- Now, most of the staff and cast are the same. So we expect no major changes. Although we do expect slight variations in the animation style. Which shouldn’t be anything too stark or contrasting from season 1.
Kenichiro Suehiro will be returning as the music director from Season 1. Takaharu Ozaki will be once again the series director. This time however there will be an additional director, Misato Takada.
When Does Goblin Slayer Season 2 Release?
Season 2 of Goblin Slayer is all planned for a 2023 release, that’s for sure. But as it stands, we only have a recently released promo. As in itself, it isn’t enough. Although in our estimation, there’s usually a 4-5 month take between the announcement/release of promo videos and the premiere of a series.
Given such, we bet that the latter half of 2023 will be the release date for Goblin Slayer Season 2. Although June-July is also very likely.
We don’t expect the first half to host the second season. Given that production houses take their sweet time in buttering the anime up to the anime fanbase. Besides, Goblin Slayer unexpectedly is no small fish.
